Deploy an app
Connect your source code, configure a build, and start a deployment.
Before you start
Have a Dawlify account, a hosting plan, and a GitHub repository you can access. Your app should have a working build and start process. Know which environment variables and database connections it requires.
1. Create a project and application
- Open the dashboard and select your organization.
- Open Hosting, then Projects, and create or select a project.
- Choose New Application, enter a name, and select Create.
- Open the application to configure it.
If creation is unavailable, check your plan's remaining site allowance and your organization permissions.
2. Connect the repository
Open the application's settings. Follow the GitHub connection prompts and grant access to the repository you intend to deploy. Select the repository and branch.
If a repository is missing, check which repositories the GitHub installation can access. Do not grant access to unrelated repositories just to troubleshoot a missing entry.
3. Choose the build settings
Select the build method your app supports:
- Nixpacks uses the repository contents to determine a build plan. Your dependencies and start command must still be valid.
- Dockerfile uses the Dockerfile you provide. Configure its path to match your repository.
Save your settings. Add the environment variables your app requires before deploying. If it uses a database, create the database and configure its connection details.
4. Deploy and inspect the result
Start a deployment from the application dashboard. Follow the status and read the deployment logs. Build duration depends on your application and its dependencies.
A successful build alone does not confirm that every feature of the app works. Open the application URL and test a request that exercises its database or other required services.
5. Connect your domain
Follow Domains and HTTPS to configure a custom address. If the app is not responding, start with the troubleshooting guide.
